Memorial Day

Everyone was off of work and school for Memorial Day so we decided to spend the day doing what we love. First we hiked up left ridge.  It is short and steep, but once you get up there you have some great views of the valley.

Coming back down.

After we got back from hiking, we loaded up to head out for a trip in the kayaks to go fishing. We headed to our favorite little reservoir near Preston, Lamont Reservoir.  We always have luck there.

It was fun to spend the day together.  Oh, it was also our 25th anniversary!  Not much fanfare for such a special day, but we did start making plans for a bigger trip to celebrate (sometime in the future).  We did go out last Friday night as a bit of a celebration.  The boys stayed over at Grandma and Grandpa Daniels' to hang out with the cousins while Clint and I went to Ogden for dinner and a movie.  It was a nice evening.

Volunteer time!

I happened to see a post looking for volunteers on a day that I had nothing going on!  I ended up being able to spend a couple of hours volunteering at the food pantry.  We packed lunch meat into family size bags for the food pantry patrons.  It was really enjoyable!

also... Honor Society!

Not only is he a great runner, but he works hard in his classes too!  This guy is now part of the National Honor Society.  (He still doesn't cooperate for pictures, though.) haha

End of another track season

We finally got to watch Carson run again, but also for the last time this season.  The last several meets were canceled due to weather and other circumstances.  His last meet was JV Region.  Unfortunately, he missed the 3200 because the team got there like 5 minutes before the meet started and they were already on the track for the 3200 while he was still in the bathroom.  Kind of a bummer because he wanted to see what he could do one last time, but oh well.  He ran the 1600, did well....tied his PR I think.  It was a good season.

State Track

Clint took Carson and his friend, Ethan Fullmer, down to Provo to watch the State track meet.  They had a great time and saw some great races!  Our friend, Claire Mantz, ran the 1600 and the 3200.  Her last year at state!  We sure will miss hanging out with the Mantz family at all the XC and Track meets.

The highlight of the day was watching the 3200.  That race was insane!  It's especially fun when you know the guys because Ethan was friends with all of them when he was running.  Casey Clinger (American Fork) has been the guy to beat all year.  He is so fast!  Talon Hull (Weber High) has had an excellent season.  Talon lead Casey the entire race and really started to pour it on the last 400.  Casey kicked it up a notch to keep pace with him.  By the time they were rounding the track for the final 200 they were at an all out sprint!  Casey was edging up on Talon, but Talon held the lead until Casey out leaned him at the line to beat him by .05 seconds!  In a 3200m race!  That is insane!  They both broke 9 minutes.  Crazy!

Check out this finish line photo taken by one of the professional photographers at the meet.

Spring Snow!

I heard once that it's not a real Cache Valley spring unless you get snow on the tulips at least once. :)  (I did not take the photo of the Logan temple, but thought it was beautiful!)

BEST DAY EVER

My favorite part of Mother's Day....Skype with my missionaries!!  They both are doing so well.  It is great to see them and get to talk, but the time goes way too fast!

Nature

One of the times I was out weeding, a bee started buzzing around the flowers on this bush.  It was going from flower to flower and I tried to get a picture.  I missed the bee, but the flowers are pretty!

Idaho Falls temple

On Saturday we drove to Idaho Falls to go to the temple open house.  They recently finished renovating the temple and are currently doing an open house.  I really wanted to go since that is where Clint and I got married, so I talked him into it!  The murals were just like I remembered them.  It was so beautiful

We went and visited our friends, Eric and Kynda, for a little bit after.  Only Davis and Nelah were there. Harrison and Adria had stuff going on.  But, it was fun to visit with them!

Treats for Grades!

We FINALLY took the boys out for frozen yogurt.....we still owed them a treat for their last report cards.
