We found out Dec 30 that Grandma Field's stay in the hospital was up and we had to move her out Dec 31. It was a little stressful. We knew it was coming, so we had a deposit on a place, but we didn't think it would happen until after the new year. So today I recruited everyone to help me move her furniture to her new apartment then went up and moved her. She is moving into an assisted living facility. Grandpa is really sad she is moving out of Pioneer. She is stressed out about living in a new place and not having grandpa around all the time, but I really like the staff at the new place and I think after a few weeks she will be settled in just fine. I thought I took a picture of her apartment....I'll have to do that.
With all of that crazy, I made ZERO plans for a New Year celebration. We watched the ball drop in NYC on TV then Griffin and I had a spontaneous dance party with Ethan and Tasha (she's back!😊) and Katelyn and Juan. Clint was out. Dancing is not his thing. 😂
New Years day Juan, Katelyn, and Griffin played in the snow for a bit. They were playing snowball tennis. haha
Then, just like that it was back to business as usual. New Years Day was Wednesday and Griffin was back to school on Thursday. I was busy getting things ready to open the shop that afternoon. So, even though Katelyn and Juan and Ethan and Tasha were still here, I didn't get to spend any time with them. That was ok, they had stuff they needed to get done as well. One of the days in there Ethan took Tasha back home.
I hired two new girls at the shop....Greta Harris (Carson's friend) and Brinley Cowley (Mikayla's younger sister...Mikayla has worked for me for a year now). They both came in on Thursday so I could train them. It will be good to have the extra help!
Katelyn and Juan headed back to Provo on Friday so they could get themselves ready for the semester to start on Monday.
I went snowshoeing in Smithfield Canyon on Friday and xc skiing there Saturday morning with Becky. It was fun and good weather!
I decided that Griffin and I needed to start going regularly, so I told him we were going to go to Green every Monday that we had free. We followed through and went on Monday. We went about 1 1/2 mile in before we turned around. He loves that he is not slow anymore. He was keeping up with me no problem which is a big improvement over even just last year.
Anyway, back to Saturday. We scored some last minute free tickets to the Aggie basketball game . . . I think they were just trying to fill the seats since it was Christmas break and all the students were gone. Ethan and Tasha went with us. It was fun!
Sunday morning church was EARLY! 8:30 AM! Wow. Well, we made it....early enough to help set up chairs even. So proud. Ethan came to sacrament meeting with us then headed down to Lehi so he could be there to celebrate Tasha's birthday with her.
Dad and I went to visit Grandma Field Sunday. She is not loving her new place, but let's be honest, she wouldn't love anywhere. I'm hopeful she'll get used to it. She is at least eating well, taking her meds, and being polite to people, so that's good. Grandpa Field is not doing great. I took him to see Grandma on Wednesday and she was pretty grumpy so the visit was not pleasant and he was practically in tears when we left. He just hates to have her away and is lonely I think. Hopefully a little more time will help.
