More Random September

Playing Risk with Griff

Carson got asked to the Sadie Hawkins dance by cute Evee Hunt, a girl that was in our ward, until her family moved.

I got called to be the 2nd counselor in the Young Women's organization at church.  I am excited to be with the beehives (12-13 year old girls) again!  They are always a lot of fun!

Clint had a psychology conference in Nevada (Thu-Sat), so he stopped on his way through Provo and took Katelyn to lunch!

Then we woke up Monday morning to the news that there had been a horrible shooting in Vegas....50 dead and 200 injured!   So grateful it didn't happen when he was still there.  I would have been so freaked out!

Homecoming!

Monday was the start of homecoming week for green canyon.  I didn't get any pictures of Carson in his outfits, darn it.  But he had some crazy ones!

Wednesday was the homecoming parade.  It started at Elk Ridge and came right past our house, so Griffin and I went out and watched.  It was fun!  The cross country team was chucking candy at us like crazy!

Carson had his dance date on Saturday.  For the day date they bought crazy clothes at DI and then went bowling.  Carson looked so handsome for the dance!.  I think he had a good time.  His date was a cute little girl (she's really short) named Saige Selman.  They came here after the dance for dessert.

Here's a shot of the guys....

Ben Seeley, Jackson Hancey, Carson, and Ryan White

with their dates...Haley Helquist, Saige Selman, Rachel Young , and Lauren Smith.

Sweet Surprises!

As a missionary momma, I sure do love getting surprise texts with photos of my missionary!  We got this one from Sister Fales:

"We love Elder Field!!  Thanks for giving us the opportunity to feed them tonight!! Love, The Fales"

UPDATE (Oct 1):

Sitting listening to general conference, Elder Hallstrom begins telling a story about Brother Fales!!  Shortly after conference Sister Fales and I had this text exchange:

Me:  "As soon as Elder Hallstrom started telling the story in conference about the high adventure I totally recognized it as the story Elder Field had told us earlier this summer.  We thought that was really cool.  Then it just dawned on me that that was your last name!  What an amazing story of miracles!"

Sister Fales:  "It was pretty crazy!  We're humbled to be there this morning.  It was an experience I hope our 2 oldest boys never forget."

If you would like to listen to/read the story, you can find it here.

Random September

Here are some of the random things that filled our days in September.

Making homemade rootbeer.  We had some leftover dry ice and happened to have some rootbeer extract in the cupboard so, why not!

Tie shopping for Carson's first dance!

Griffin has been learning how to solve the rubiks cube.

Griffin was bored one day and decided to decorate an egg, since we never decorated Easter eggs.  That's pretty funny....and sad. haha

Carson and Griffin watching The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross and created their own masterpieces. So funny!  Bob Ross is some white dude with an afro from the 70s that had a painting show on PBS.

A teenage driver in the house again

We went and got Carson's driver's license...finally! He was super pumped.  It was good motivation for finishing up the last three merit badges that he needed to get his Eagle (he finished his project a year ago!).

It was so funny, because just as we were leaving his friend, Jackson Hancey, was pulling in to get his.  Carson thought it was great that he got it first. :)

And now we can sit in the back together!

Cross country season well under way!!

The Highland Invitational in Murray is always the first meet of the year!  and usually before school has even started, which was the case again this year.  It is a huge meet and always fun to watch.  Carson ran on varsity and did well.  Love that they start their races with a prayer.

Carson had his second meet the following week on the first day of school....a duel at Ridgeline with Logan.  He did ok, but not as well as he would have liked.  He got bumped from varsity.  There are like 4 guys that are all about the same speed that will probably be battling all year for the bottom two varsity spots

Aggie Invite was next.  Carson did good, but not as well as he had hoped, I think.

Taking pics of his mustache coming in....haha

Carson had a GREAT race on Wednesday!  It was a dual meet with Bear River at our home course (the USU course).  He made it back on to varsity!  I was so happy for him.

About halfway through the season already!
