Memorable Weather

This week has been CRAZY!  Mostly the weather.  Wow!  Never seen anything like it.  HUGE snowstorm Tuesday night/wed morning which meant a 2 hour delay for school.  It continued to snow all day....got stuck picking Griffin up at Cedar Ridge and had to get pushed out by like 10 middle schoolers.

Look at all that snow!  We were pretty much clearing the sidewalks and driveway for two straight days.

Thursday school was canceled because of cold temps (-8) in the morning.  Everyone thought that was bad enough, but then they canceled again Friday because it was -25!!!!!  I'm not joking.

It was just as cold on Saturday as well.  Then somehow, it warmed up 40 degrees!? and was 20 degrees out Sunday morning.  Felt like summer. :)  It was warmer at midnight (38 degrees) than it has been during the day with the sun out for many days.  Weirdest. Weather. Ever.

When you've got this much snow, and it's too cold to make a snow man, you have to do something fun with it....

Making snow ice cream!  fresh snow + sweetened condensed milk + vanilla = yummiest ice cream ever!

Topped with whipped cream and sprinkles!

 

And in case you want to make it yourself, here's the recips:

Ingredients:
•8 cups of fresh snow
•1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
•1 tbs of vanilla

Instructions:
1. Combine ingredients in a large bowl.
2. Add sweetened condensed milk to get the texture you desire.
3.Top with cool whip, sprinkles and/or berries.
