Months ago I volunteered to be on the food committee for Stake Girl's Camp. I loved girl's camp growing up and it will always have a special place in my heart. I was excited for the opportunity to go with our stake! We would be going to the church camp facilities at Heber Valley. The week leading up to camp required quite a bit of preparation to be sure we were ready to go, but our food committee chair, Susan Pack, was very organized and we were ready! We drove up to camp together and made one last stop in Heber for a couple of things before heading up the mountain to the camp.
One of the evenings, we had the privilege of having Sister Oscarson and President Brough attend and share a message with us. President Brough's talk especially touched me. It was so good. Here is a picture of them with the Stake camp leaders.
Working in the kitchen was a lot of fun! I was able to serve with some great ladies. Getting to know some of the Young Women in the stake was a lot of fun and getting to see some of the Young Women from our old ward was awesome. Some of the girls from my new ward made us this cute note at the end of the week.....
While I was off at Girl's Camp, the boys were across the mountain at a camp in the Uintahs for Young Men's camp. Clint was able to go with them, so that was awesome! Griffin worked on merit badges, played in the lake, chilled in his hammock, and went on a hike. Carson got to go rapelling, kayaking on the lake, and hiking.
The young men were also able to have Sister Oscarson and President Brough talk to them. They spoke to the Young Men first before heading over to the Young Women's camp the same day.
It wasn't the greatest timing for us all to be gone, with Katelyn just barely home from her mission AND starting a new job that week. I made arrangements for her to go stay at Grandma and Grandpa Daniels house so she wouldn't have to be alone. She enjoyed her stay there, and Grandpa even put her to work. ;)
