Random August (first half) . . . .

Grandma and Grandpa D were out of town at the beginning of August, so we went over and mowed the lawn and picked fresh veggies and fruit.  TONS of blackberries.  Yum!  We made pickles and a little jam and a treat with the blueberries.

What do you do when you get a package with a bunch of bubble wrap???

and then try to avoid getting popped by your brother.

Carson recorded himself mowing the lawn on strava.  and got some great comments from his friends.  haha

We sorted through the boys clothes and did some back to school shopping.  Can't believe it's time for that already!  I'm not ready for summer to be over.  Still so much to do!

Clint conducted his first baptism and his first Sacrament meeting.  (Oh, I don't think I ever mentioned he was put into the Bishopric to replace our second counselor that moved).  He did a great job!

Two Hermanas from Katelyn's mission came by to visit one Sunday!  It was so fun.

Griffin started swimming lessons last week.  It took us all summer to get him in a session, but we made the last one!  He'll finish up this week.  He was a little rusty the first time across the pool (it's been a year), but the teacher gave him a couple of pointers and he was looking good after that!

One of his favorite parts of swimming lessons is getting to sit in the hot pool after.

Carson dressed up for "tool bag" tuesday at cross country.  Oh my.

We had a cross country parent meeting on Tuesday so I got to see the inside of the new high school.  It is SO nice.  Have I mentioned our high school is splitting and we will be in a new school starting in the fall?  The new school is Green Canyon.  The team got their new uniforms.  Carson is pretty pumped.  Then they had the blue and white (green and silver) meet on Wednesday....they did it with SV.  It was so crazy because Green Canyon had like 30 boys and SV only had 10 or 12!  Both girls teams were also only about 10-12.  It was weird to see such small teams.

After Carson's run Wednesday, Katelyn and I went down to Provo.  It was a good visit.  I think she really needed it.  She's getting a little anxious about school.  She got her student ID, got a job, went to the bookstore, walked around campus, and found her apartment building.  We also stopped by a hotel and visited Angie and Sydney Field.  They were in town for some surgery Sydney needed.  That was part of the reason we went down.  All is good with Sydney.  There was just some scar tissue from her appendectomy last year that has been causing her pain and they had to remove it.

Saturday Katelyn had to work, but the rest of us went down to Cabela's to use up our points on some gear and then go to a reception in SLC for Dr. Visick's daughter.  We stopped for some dinner and got home really late, but it was a good time!
