Sister's Retreat!!!

Well, I made it back safe and sound!  Clint and the boys even survived without me for a week. haha!  It was a super fun trip, but I was glad to be back.

We backpacked for three days and two nights in the Needles section of Canyonlands National Park, covered 15.5 miles total, packed in all our water, and experienced using WAG bags for the first time ever. What a trip!

Afternoon of day 1....hiking in to our first camp site.  Such amazing scenery!
We did miss the turn off for our site and ended up going too far, back tracking, and getting there after dark.  It was an adventure!
Morning of day 2 at the squaw canyon camp site.
scenery and hiking
crazy crevices to jump over and go through!
 lunch stop day 2
 having fun!
Setting up camp at elephant canyon

hiking from our camp site out to druid arch
AMAZING!  Druid arch was so cool!
having some fun on our way back from druid arch

evening and morning at elephant canyon
last day of the trip...morning of day 3
It was interesting to watch the terrain change as we hiked out.  All of it was so cool!
A lot of the trail was across rocky terrain so we followed cairns a good deal of the time.  Elizabeth thought we were saying "Karen" at first, so then we started saying hello to and naming all the cairns . . . messy cairn, skinny cairn, fat cairn.  It was quite funny.

We stopped and look at these cool rock art (petroglyphs...is that the right term??) on the drive out.

We spent the rest of the week at Rebecca's house in Blanding with her family and my mom, who came down with us.  We helped her pick out clothes for their family pictures.

And took a little trip to Moab for lunch and some window shopping.

We gave ourselves pedicures and enjoyed visiting and Elizabeth and Emily got into a little brawl.  jk  Elizabeth was just demonstrating some of her jujitsu on Emily.

And enjoyed spending time with Rebecca's cute family.

Saturday morning we headed for home.  We made a quick stop in Provo and saw Katelyn.  It was fun for my mom to pay a visit to her old apartment complex, where Katelyn now lives!

Almost 50 years earlier, same location!  How cool is that!

Then we stopped at Kent and Kelsey's in Salt Lake City for dinner.  Kelsey made the most delicious meal.  It was super fun to visit with them.

Love making memories with my sisters and mom.  Family is the best!!
