wrapping up xc 2017

In XC we raced against Mountain Crest and Ridgeline next. Carson had another good race!  He dropped one spot, but is still on varsity.  One other teammate was right on his tail, though!

 

Cache Box is always an exciting meet.  This year it was held at the American West Heritage Center.  It's a cool course, but a tough one as well.  Hot and hilly.  Carson raced well, but so did our top 2 JV runners and they were a few seconds faster than him.  We have a dual with Sky View next, so hopefully he can beat them and get back on varsity for region.  Although, he probably wouldn't mind running JV and having the chance to medal.  Can't believe we're that close to the end of the season already!

The cross country team had their last dual and it was against Sky View.  Carson finished 8th for Green Canyon so he'll be in the JV race at region.  On the bright side, that gives him a chance to medal.

Region meet up next.  Carson ran the JV race.  He had such a great race!  He get a course PR by 15 seconds!  He placed 7th in the JV race and..... He beat the 7th varsity runner for Green Canyon by 3 seconds and Green Canyon qualified for state, so Carson will be running at state next week!!  So excited for him!!  Team dinner here on Tuesday and then they run on Wednesday!

State track was awesome.  The energy is always so intense!  Carson didn't PR so I think he was a little disappointed, and he was at the back of the pack, but I thought he ran well.  I think he felt a little better after he discovered that our division was one of the strongest ones in the state!
