Engagement and Family Time

I went running up the pyramids with my friends on Friday.  It was a pretty day.  The weather was super cold, but it has warmed up a bit and today it is warm enough that the snow is melting!  No!!  We were hoping to get some new snow for Christmas.

Ethan spent Wed-Sun at Tasha's house in Lehi.  They did a lot of fun stuff with her family.  And...... They went ring shopping and picked out an engagement ring!!!  Ethan ordered it yesterday and it should be here in 3-5 weeks so they will be getting engaged soon. 😍

Speaking of engagements......

Katelyn and Juan are official!!  He asked her on Sunday.  So excited for them.  They haven't picked a date yet, but probably April/May.  Juan secretly sent me a text for a good location that would still be accessible in the snow, but in the mountains, since he knows how much she loves them.  Sunday morning Becky and I did a quick reconnaissance mission up Smithfield Canyon to make sure it was doable.  I sent him directions and they "went on a drive" after church. 😁  It was fun to be in on the secret!

Then Tasha came to spend a couple of days with us before Christmas.  I gave them their Christmas gift early, while they were both here....matching USU hoodies since they'll both be going there now.

Tasha is so sweet to Griffin.  I don't know how it got started, but he was reading the Snowmen at Night book to her. 😂

Emily's boys came over Monday.  Jackson has been dying to come play with our "Cars" cars.  haha  He didn't really care about seeing us, he just marched in and immediately asked about the cars.  So he had a fabulous afternoon here playing with the cars while we hung out and talked.  It was fun to see them.

We made gingerbread houses at Grandma's last night.  It's such a fun tradition.  I love how even though the kids are older now, they still get into it.  Then we played a game after...well, it's not so much a game, but there are cards with questions that help you get to know people better.  I really liked it.

We had Grandpa Field over for dinner Sunday night.  He is really  missing having Grandma around and has been pretty depressed.  Her recovery isn't going as fast as we had hoped.  She was pretty incoherent for most of the first day in the hospital.  They slowly warmed her body, but some of her levels have been off and they have to get everything regulated.  She is still in the hospital at this point, and we don't know how much longer it will be.
