Palisades Ultra

On Friday we drove down to Provo to pick up Katelyn, then all the way back up to Idaho Falls to spend the weekend with the Roberts family for the Palisades race.  I was so sad not to run it, but it was best to let my foot heal so I can be ready for the St. George marathon in October.

It was a half marathon trail race, out and back, on a trail in the palisades reservoir area.  It was beautiful!

Carson came in 4th, Clint did great (especially considering he didn't train near as much as he wanted to)...I think he was happy with his time, Katelyn LOVED it and wants to do more trail races now.  On the way home after she was already looking up other trail races we could potentially do.
The Roberts family didn't fair so well....well, Adria at least.  The trail was pretty technical and Adria dislocated her knee (it has happened before).  She was about 4 1/2 miles in and had to walk all that way out!  Kynda and Eric stopped when they got to her and helped her walk back out.  So their races got ruined too.  We were so bummed for them.

Overall, we were glad we did it and are looking forward to doing it again next year!

It was a little chilly when we first arrived
